Yazidi activist Nadia Murad has series meetings with intentional decision makers and world leaders; she has various meetings with Deputy Minister, Minister of foreign Affairs, Ambassadors, Minsters and head of humanitarian aid organizations in EU. She has discussed the situation of Yazidis in Iraq particularly Yazidi survivors, she has also discussed the fighting impunity, supporting female victims of sexual violence in conflict, and promoting the return & protection of minorities in Iraq. On the other hands, rebuilding and helping Yazidis to rebuild Sinjar and provide them with basic services was prioritized topic in all the meetings

Nadia Nobel Peace Prize laureate has posted several posts since May 2019 with many world leaders and Ministers, in this month Nadia has endlessly arranged her time to meet with highly official persons in EU to discuss about the current Yazidi suffers and situation in IDP camps in Iraq and Sinjar.

She started her meeting with UN’s International Organization for Migration, signed an agreement with the French Crisis and Support Center and the UN’s International Organization for Migration to continue relocating Yazidi women and children to France – a program that started in December 2018. The signing of this agreement reflects President Macron’s commitment to Nadia Murad to welcome 100 Yazidi women and their children direct or indirect victims of ISIS (Daesh) on French soil cooperation with French government, the process of the program has successfully going on.

On 16 May Nadia Murad met with Ed Llewellyn, British Ambassador to France and Monaco, to discuss the situation of Yazidis in Iraq, Yazidis suffers around the world. She also talked about survivors of ISIS’s genocide against Yazidis are still living in tents on top of Mount Sinjar where they fled and are in desperate need of security and services in order to return to their communities. Nadia also pointed out that Yazidi people need security and safety in order to return to their homes.

On 22 May, Murad met with Didier Reynders, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs and Defence Minister, both sides discussed on fighting impunity, supporting female victims of sexual violence in conflict and war times, and they discussed about finding ways to return & protection of minorities to their origin areas with sustainable security condition in minority regions.

On 23 May, Nadia Murad met with Christos Stylianides, the European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, spoke about the EU’s commitment to rebuilding the lives of vulnerable Iraqis in general and minorities in particular.

On 24 May, Nadia Murad met with German Minister of Interior Horst Seehofer. Nadia thanked Mr. Seehofer for offering to work with Nadia’s Initiative to support the Yazidi community. Nadia spoke with the Minister about the situation of the Yazidi community in Iraq and post ISIS, particularly the ongoing genocide against the Yazidis. Both sides had productive meeting, they discussed about the Yazidi situation in details.

On 25 May, Yazidi activist and Goodwill Ambassador had a meeting with German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas, as Nadia described in her post on social media, had productive meeting with German Foreign Minister. Nadia and Heiko discussed implementation of UN Resolution 2467 to help survivors of sexual violence among war conflicts, as well as reconstruction of Yazidi regions and resolution of issues of security and local governance in Sinjar.

On 29 May, Nadia met with German Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development, Gerd Müller, in Berlin, both sides discuss Germany’s role in helping Yazidis rebuild Sinjar district and provide them with basic services for rebuilding their homes. Nadia also stressed the direness of the situation for Yazidis both in IDP camps in KRI and in Sinjar.
Nadia Murad may have some other meetings in future with world leaders and decision makers to discuss about the Yazidi situation and other minority groups in Iraq, Nadia’s Initiative will have an

important role to support Yazidis survivors and rebuilding Yazidi town of Sinjar.

Nadia Murad is a Yazidi human rights activist from Sinjar in northern Iraq, a Nobel Peace Prize winner and a Goodwill Ambassador for the Dignity of Survivors of Human Trafficking at the UN Office on Drugs and Crime. In 2014, she was captured and endured three months as a sex slave at the hands of IS terrorist group after they swept through the area of northern Iraq where she lived with her family. She was bought and sold several times and subjected to sexual and physical abuse during her captivity.
